Brr..

I have been getting complaints about lack of blog postings so here it is.

Not too much happening other than it is getting damn cold. Tonight is -20 degrees right now (will go down to -24 degrees) with a wind chill factor of -38 degrees. And it is not officially winter until Tuesday!

It hasn't really snowed other than on December 11th but the snow only lasted one day so it doesn't really count. This is the view from our balcony.

The only things that have really happened is that we tried playing ice-hockey for the first time last week. Craig's people from work rented a rink at 9.00 O'Clock on a Saturday and just had a fun game. It is just as well Canadians are polite as they skated around us most of the time (they are too good to run into us) and Craig officially scored a goal - even if it was a gimme. He now has the puck to prove it! (Sorry no photos as we were too busy on the ice).

The next day I went to a colleagues place for cookie baking. It is a tradition at her place where she invites a whole heap of people around for baking and icing cookies, a glass of wine and other goodies and an ice-skate. Then the quests go home with their plate full of cookies. I think this is a tradition that I should bring home with me as it was quite fun.

The only other thing that happened was we finally got a land line. After a few mistakes on the cell-phone (as we have to pay for incoming calls and our wrong plan gave us a $370 bill in three months) we haven't really talked to the folks at home via phone. As you can see, this is the first phone call - naturally from my mother -but it seems as though for the last two Saturday nights I have done nothing but talk to my family. We have had seven months to catch up on so it is understandable.

Anyway, watch this space next week - next stop Quebec City, dogsledding and skiing - yay!!
